Biography
Raviteja was born on January 26, 1968. He spent most of his life in North India. His father was a pharmacist. His mother was an engineer in Tata Industries. Later on he moved to Vijayawada along with his family and joined Siddhartha Degree College.
At the beginning of his film career, he worked as an assistant director for several films. He worked as an assistant director with Krishna Vamsi for Ninne Pelladatha movie, Mahesh Bhatt for Criminal and other directors as well. His ex-room mate Y.V.S Chowdary helped him to get some offers from Bollywood as a script writer.
Krishna Vamsi identified Ravi Teja's acting skills and gave him the lead role in Sindhooram.Later he did some small roles in various films. He got his big break with Puri Jagannadh's Itlu Sravani Subramanyam and later Idiot in 2002. He also starred in Krishna Vamsi's Khadgam in 2002. In 2003, he played the lead role in Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi directed by Puri Jagannath. In 2004, he acted in hit movie Venky directed by Srinu Vaitla. In 2005, he played the lead role in Dil Raju's Bhadra. In 2006 he acted in S.S. Rajamouli's Vikramarkudu. His latest film was Khatarnak opposie Ileana directed by Amma Rajasekhar. His forthcoming film is Dubai Sinu directed by Srinu Vaitla with Nayanatara as the female lead. J.D. Chakravarti is also acting in a special role in this film.
